ORLANDO, Fla., May 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Acorn Stairlifts, Inc., today announced the launch of their new and improved Acorn Straight Stairlift; the #1 selling stairlift in the world. Since the company was founded in 1992, they have sold over 300,000 Acorn Stairlifts worldwide.

The new Acorn  Stairlift offers a more comfortable, padded seat with a more modern-looking design. The overall size has been reduced, which, in addition to making the seat more aesthetically pleasing, provides even more space on the staircase. The seating shape and position have been adjusted as well, making for a more ergonomic ride, with even greater user flexibility. In addition, the newly positioned paddle controls have been adjusted to make the new Acorn Stairlift easier to operate than ever before.

Acorn Stairlifts are the first and only stairlifts to earn the prestigious Ease-of-Use Commendation from the Arthritis Foundation. Complying with all of the current safety standards, the new Acorn Stairlift has a wealth of improved features, such as the new arm interlocks, which prevent accidental movement when getting on or off, and the seatbelt has been moved higher for increased comfort when locking and unlocking.
