- Adjustable Seat Unit,
- Fold-Down Steady Bar,
- Manual Control 'Wander-Lead'.
- Perch Seat Post
- Mounting Hardware
Includes:- Two mounting bolts,
- Four steel washers,
- One female to male connector.
Tools Required:

- 5 mm Allen Key.
Note: Photos show stair lift carriage with cover removed to aid clarity. It is not necessary to remove the carriage cover to install the Perch unit unless it is being retro-fitted, i.e. replacing a standard seat.
Carefully unpack the Perch unit and establish that you have all of the parts. The Perch unit must be attached to the back (wall side) of the carriage.
- Remove the axle bolts and washers indicated in Fig.1 and discard.
- Offer up the Perch unit to the rear side of the carriage. At the same time, locate the mounting pin into the hole in the top of the seat post that protrudes from the top of the carriage.
- Using the replacement 17mm bolts and washers provided. Fix the lower slotted bracket of the Perch assembly to the back of the carriage. Place one steel washer on either side of the bracket.
- Ensure that the Perch seat is level with floor/landing and torque the mounting bolts and the 5mm allen bolts securing the carriage post (seen through the circular port on either side of the carriage cover) to 35 lbs/ft with a torque wrench.
- Connect the control cable from the perch assembly to the carriage control cable with the screw-together connector.
- Connect the two white wires from the carriage assembly to the blue and brown wires attached to the Perch assemble. You will need the female to male connector to complete this task.
This completes the Perch assembly installation. The stair lift is now operable by using the toggle switch (attached to the 'Wander-Lead') or by using the remote controls.
