Remembering Martin Luther King: Fight for your Right to Mobility with a Stairlift

12:00am & Lifestyle

“Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase.”                                                                                          - Martin Luther King Jr.

On August, 28, 1963, Martin Luther King Jr., a man with a dream, stood on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C and addressed the nation with a speech that forever goes down in history.

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. I have a dream today.... I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.”

Today on Martin Luther King Day we honor the life of MLK Jr.—the man who not only had a dream, but the man who set his dream into motion, starting a movement that forever changed the future of America. The man that stared adversary in the face and fought for what was right—equality, liberty, and justice for all, regardless of the color of our skin.

As you remember the sacrifices MLK Jr. made in his fight for equal rights for all, remember to fight for the rights that you and your loved ones deserve—independence, freedom, and mobility. As Rosa Parks and all of the sit-ins during the Civil Rights Movement proved to the world, sometimes sitting is the most powerful way of standing up for your rights.
