Thanksgiving 2022—5 Ways to Celebrate Turkey Day This Year

12:00am & Tips and Advice

Thanksgiving is a holiday often associated with feasting, friends, and family, but it is so much more than that. It is a time when we acknowledge everything—both big and small— we have in our lives to be thankful for.

Acorn Stairlifts wants to wish you and your loved ones a Happy Thanksgiving this holiday season!

This year, we also want to encourage you to reflect on the blessings you have in your life that you may take for granted.

When is Thanksgiving 2022?

Thanksgiving is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November. This means that November 24 will be Thanksgiving Day this year in 2022.

5 Ways to Celebrate Thanksgiving Day This Year

1. Gather with Family and Friends

There is nothing more fulfilling than getting to spend time with the people you love and care about the most.

Gather up your friends and family and spend some good quality time together. Now is the time to make more precious memories that will last you a lifetime.

2. Expand on Your Cooking and Baking Skills with Some New RecipesThanksgiving 2022

Thanksgiving is the perfect opportunity to get back in the kitchen and expand on your cooking and baking skills.

Whether you have a signature Thanksgiving dish that your family begs you to make every year or you are wanting to try out a new recipe, there are plenty of ways to bring some creativity to the dinner table this year.

3. Give to the Less Fortunate

Thanksgiving is a time in which we are not only thankful for what we have, but we make an effort to give to those who may not be as lucky as we are.

Whether you provide food to those who may not be fortunate enough to feast on Thanksgiving or donate money to a charity or struggling family, you can help provide someone else with a reason to be thankful during their time of need.

4. Volunteer Your Time for Others

Another form of giving and creating a sense of community during Thanksgiving is volunteering your time to help others.

You can do this by looking up local events that are happening in your community that may need volunteers or signing up for shifts at soup kitchens and other organizations that dedicate their time and energy to helping the less fortunate.

5. Acknowledge What You are Thankful for in Your Life

It is often easy for us to dwell on the negative aspects of our lives, rather than stopping to appreciate all of the little blessings that go unnoticed every day.

Take time to reflect on the blessings that you have today. Do you have food on your table? A place to call home? Someone you love who has stayed by your side through thick and thin?

No one’s life is perfect, but when we take the time to notice the things that we take for granted, it turns out that everyone has something big or small to be thankful for on this holiday.

Happy Thanksgiving!
